Martyn Gill from ASI DataMyte on why the LVMC is important for the industry Since its introduction in 2005 the Large Volume Metrology Conference and exhibition has established itself as a key event for measurement system users and has been instrumental in supporting what is a fledgling yet extremely important industry worldwide. The LVMC is a valuable opportunity for the measurement community, including system users, engineers, academia, standards institutes and system suppliers, to meet annually. The two-day events combine conference sessions with a comprehensive exhibition of some of the world’s leading measurement system manufacturers. The conference element is designed to be informative, topical and educational to stimulate further debate and to inspire ongoing personal development. It also serves to steer academia and standards institutes towards the relevant research and standards requirements. Top suppliers attend to exhibit the latest equipment available which has included laser trackers, indoor GPS, automation, photogrammetry, laser radar and projection and CMM's. The exhibition focuses exclusively on portable and large volume 3D measurement technology and is a unique opportunity to network within a high concentration of users and suppliers of this specialised field. Airbus would like to thank all those who have attended or exhibited at the LVMC since 2005. The event is self-financing and is run not for profit, and its future is dependent upon the support of our suppliers and the delegates who attend each year.
